And he would answer and say to them, “The man who has two tunics is to share with him who has none; and he who has food is to do likewise.” Luke 3:11 (NASB)
For the past eight years, BRAVE has been providing Thanksgiving meals to those in need in the Denver Metro area. We partner with Arapahoe Human Services and Outreach, as well as Adams County Human Services, to personally deliver meals to families in need that have applied through their offices and our church.
We need over 200 volunteers to make this happen! Volunteer opportunities include helping collect food bags on Sundays and First Tuesday, helping on delivery day, and delivering bags to families on November 15th for both the Englewood and Westminster campuses.
To provide a meal, start by downloading the shopping list (Englewood shopping list, Westminster shopping list) and obtain all the non-perishable food items for a family of five. Please take the items to the Englewood or Westminster Campus in a box or sturdy bag on any of the following collection dates:
Sundays: Oct 26, Nov 2, Nov 9
Englewood: 8–8:30am; 10–10:30am, 12pm–12:30pm
Westminster: 8:30–9am; 10:30am–11am, 12:20pm–12:40pm
First Tuesday: November 4
Englewood & Westminster: 6:30pm–7:15pm
Please do not include any PERISHABLE items (e.g., pies, cakes, cookies, fruit, vegetables, etc.)
As an alternative to contributing an entire Thanksgiving meal, a donation of any of the non-perishable food items on the list and/or a $25 gift card to King Soopers or Safeway to purchase a turkey can be dropped off at church on any of the collection dates.
